From a young age, I had a deep empathy for all creatures, whether two-legged or four-legged. That explains my collection of butterflies, fireflies, and exotic fish. While others called them “strays,” I preferred to refer to them as my “projects of devotion.”
As I grew older, I wanted to channel my desire for higher education into a field where I could do the most good. In 1987, I attended law school with the intention of finding an innocent person.
I was looking for someone who had been wrongfully incarcerated due to an inability to navigate the complexities of the legal system. My goal was to free them from their unjust confinement.
Fast forward thirty-four years, and my focus has shifted to saving animals who have been discarded and forgotten. Now, I dedicate myself to rescuing man’s best friend, particularly those who are too old to be considered worthy of a loving home. These are dogs who have been abandoned and horses that can no longer run. Their only crime is that they’ve grown old.
I provide a nurturing and loving home for animals who have no forever home. I ensure they receive the medical care they need and allow them to live out their best lives on my ranch. They can sleep all day or run freely on the property, enjoy endless belly rubs, and sleep in warm beds at night. If I can find a new forever home for these lost souls, I am happy to make that connection. But if not, they no longer have to endure cold, noisy shelter cages. They will run free and live out their lives with love and dignity.
Will you join me on my mission?
Hello, my name is Norman Ratliff. Since a young age I have had a passion for helping anything I found in need. I would experience other children focused on hurting and destroying the beauty our animals and environment have to offer. I would often show opposition to this behavior and would find myself alone loving the animals and the environment we have to appreciate. I have continued my passion through life as a US Army Ranger Medic, a paramedic for Atlanta 911 and now as a vet tech achieving my veterinary license as I dedicate my remaining years to the rescue and rehabilitation of all land animals I find in dire need and to provide a safe environment for them to live out their remaining years.
We are a non profit 501c organization that focuses on the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming (when possible) of all land animals in the central Texas region. We have begun our focus with feline and canine care in our own community and are looking for a place to settle and grow into a full care facility where the animals can more comfortably live out there time in a safe and caring environment and people can also have the chance to interact and experience healing along with the animals. If you are interested in being a part of supporting our goals and would like more information, please contact us at …
